A North Liberty woman who had a previous history of drug possession convictions has been arrested again after an August execution of a search warrant turned up drugs and paraphernalia.

Arrest reports indicate the search warrant on the Golfview Court residence of 52-year-old Brenda Lee Cretsinger was carried out the morning of August 13th. Authorities say they located a substance consistent with marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, and a Class 1 controlled substance in a glasses case in the living room. In Cretsinger’s bedroom, they allegedly found items consistent with edibles containing THC. Multiple pills were located in the residence; many came back as being available by prescription only, in unlabeled containers and others mixed in with a variety of different pills.

Multiple items of drug paraphernalia were allegedly found throughout the residence, including pipes used to smoke meth, a syringe, and a pipe with residue that is consistent with smoking marijuana.

Cretsinger’s previous convictions for drug possession go back decades. She has a 1987 conviction for cocaine possession, and marijuana possession convictions in 1990 and 1991.

Once the substances were tested positive for drugs, a warrant was issued for Cretsinger’s arrest. She was booked into the Johnson County Jail Wednesday night and charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd or subsequent, one count of Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, Cretsinger could be sentenced to over 16 years in prison.
