A Wisconsin man was taken into custody Friday night after an alleged assault of an ex-domestic partner who has a no-contact order against him.

Police say the incident occurred at the North Liberty residence of the victim shortly before 10pm. Arrest reports indicate that 28-year-old Anthony Michael Reed of Waukesha Wisconsin assaulted the victim by pushing them onto the ground and biting the victim on their back, resulting in a visible injury. The victim suffered a head injury during the reported assault, and Reed is accused of impeding the victim’s airway by covering their mouth with his hand for about a minute.

The two have previously cohabited and were involved in an intimate relationship.

Police say when they attempted to take him into custody, Reed resisted arrest by kicking, punching and spitting on officers.

Reed has been charged with violation of the no-contact order, Interference with Official Acts, and Domestic Abuse Assault impeding airflow. If convicted, he faces up to 26 months in prison.

Reed also faces public intoxication and interference with official acts charges from an incident in July of this year. A non-jury trial has now been scheduled for January 28th after he failed to appear for his trial on November 6th.
