A North Liberty man has been arrested after allegedly striking his live in girlfriend while she was holding their two-month-old baby.
Police say they were called to the couple’s Heritage Place residence just before 9:30am Sunday on reports of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, they met with the woman, who said that 27-year-old Dylan Hahn hit her in the back of the head with his hand, while she was dumping out the vodka he’d allegedly been drinking since 6am. A neighbor and witness on the scene overheard the fight and contacted authorities.
The woman reportedly was holding the couple’s two month old baby when she was hit.
Hahn was tested for alcohol and a PBT showed a blood-alcohol level of .178.
He was taken into custody and charged with his first domestic abuse assault causing injury charge, and with child endangerment. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to three years in prison.
A no-contact order was requested between the couple.
