Allegedly trying to cash a pair of stolen checks has led to forgery charges against an Iowa City woman.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Rita Robinson of the Eden Apartments on Muscatine Avenue attempted to cash two stolen $500 checks at Solon State Bank drive-thrus on two separate occasions: just after 2:30am on Tuesday at the Solon branch and just before 5pm Friday at the Tiffin branch. Robinson was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 6:15 Friday night and charged with two counts of forgery. If convicted, she faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
