Reported COVID-19 cases among University of Iowa students have surpassed the 3,000 mark.

That’s according to the latest coronavirus update from the school, released Wednesday. UI officials reported four new reported cases between Monday and Wednesday, bringing the total since the beginning of the fall 2020 semester to 3,001.

There were three more cases reported among UI employees, bringing that total to 441.

One residence hall occupant is currently under quarantine, and one is in self-isolation. Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others, while self-isolation is used to separate people infected with the virus from people who are not infected.
