UI graduate among those killed in Taiwan train derailment

A 2018 University of Iowa graduate was among those killed last week in a Taiwan train derailment.

Senead Short graduated with a BA with University Honors and With Distinction in international studies, and a minor in French. She was a 2020 Fulbright Award winner, and was teaching English in Taipei. She also offered dance and art lessons to children in the community.

The train Short was riding on smashed into a truck that rolled onto the tracks and partially derailed. 50 were killed and 202 were injured among the 500 passengers on April 2nd.
