A Coralville man is accused of breaking into the mother of his child’s apartment after she refused to let him in.

According to police, 19-year-old Parrish Forrest of 21st Avenue Place went to the woman’s apartment on 4th Avenue Place just before 2:15 am Tuesday. She wouldn’t allow him into the apartment, so Forrest allegedly put his hand through a bedroom window screen and entered through the window.

A physical altercation reportedly ensued, and the woman sustained an injury to her leg. Arriving officers noted that the woman’s pants were blood-soaked.

According to the victim, Forrest doesn’t live with her and has never entered the apartment through the window before.

He’s been charged with first degree Burglary and Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury. If convicted on both counts, Forrest could be sentenced to up to 26 years in prison. A no-contact order was requested by the victim.
