A former University of Iowa running back-turned actor has had his home raided by the FBI after participating in the US Capitol insurrection on January 6th.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Siaka Masssaquoi’s North Hollywood home was raided by about 20 agents early Thursday morning.  A source close to the investigation told the Times that the raid took place because of he and a housemate’s associations on a social media app. It’s unclear whether Massaquoi was arrested and released. He has not responded to that story other than to say that he was “coming for them.”

Massaquoi’s Hawkeye career came to an end in June 2002 after being charged earlier in the year with second-offense drunk driving, driving while suspended, and providing false information to officers. At the time, Head Coach Kirk Ferentz said that he and Massaquoi sat down at the beginning of the winter 2002 semester to discuss conditions that the running back would have to meet to stay on the team, but Massaquoi “chose not to fulfill the requirements….set forth.”

The Evanston Illinois native has since made a career as an actor. The Gazette reports that he has 35 acting credits on IMBD.com and was recently in a Netflix series called “Ratched.”

His political and social views have drawn attention recently. He reportedly participated in a protest of a COVID-19 vaccine center set up at Dodger Stadium, and a series of photos and videos show Massaquoi at the US Capitol the day of the insurrection. He posted a video shortly afterwards, saying that he and others had the right to walk into the Capitol “because it’s ours.”
