An Iowa City man carrying a golf club has been arrested after allegedly threatening two people last month.

Police say the incident involved 31-year-old Terry Jon Pearson Jr of South Fairchild Street. He allegedly approached two individuals in their parking lot on Scott Court as they parked their car. According to the victims, Pearson told them he was going to hit them in their heads with the club as he tapped it on the ground.

One victim asked Pearson what he said to clarify what she heard, and he allegedly replied, “Yup, one for you and one for you” while continuing to tap the club on the ground. Both victims left the area out of fear for their safety.

A warrant was requested for Pearson’s arrest, and he was booked at the Johnson County Jail Sunday afternoon. He’s been charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Harassment, and could be sentenced to two years in jail if convicted.

He was released Monday morning on his own recognizance pending arraignment.
