A woman who used to work at a Cedar Rapids hospital has been sentenced to five years of probation for improperly accessing her ex-boyfriend’s medical records and distributing a photo of his injuries.

The Gazette reports that Lynne Bacor, who now lives in Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to wrongfully accessing her ex-boyfriend’s records in 2017.  Prosecutors say the 41-year-old woman took a picture of a medical photo and sent it to another person.

That third person then sent the photo back to the ex-boyfriend on Facebook messenger with taunting language and emojis.

Over the course of 7 months, Bacor accessed the ex-boyfriend’s medical records on multiple occasions,  The man is the father of her two children, and she allegedly was trying to get sole custody so that she could move to Las Vegas.

As part of her sentencing, Bacor is barred from employment where she would have access to private medical information of others, and was fined $1000.
