An inmate at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center has died as a result of suicide.
That’s according to the Iowa Department of Corrections. An agency news release says 28-year-old Anthony William Geltz was pronounced dead as a result of suicide at approximately 11:04 Saturday night. Geltz had been serving a 2-year sentence for Assault Causing Injury on Peace Officers or Others from Cherokee County. His sentence began on December 17, 2020.
No other details have been released.
