Coralville resident killed in one-vehicle crash near Tiffin

A Coralville resident was killed in a one-vehicle crash near Tiffin.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 64-year-old Chou-Long Huang was driving a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound on Half Moon Avenue just before 8am Friday when the car failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 6. The vehicle crossed the highway, left the roadway and hit a tree.

Huang was transported via ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with unknown injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, 65-year-old Ychen Huang, was taken to the UIHC and later pronouned dead. The State Patrol says Chou-Long Huang was wearing a seat belt. There is no indication if one was being worn by Ychen Huang.

The accident remains under investigation.
