An Iowa City woman with a colorful criminal history has been arrested on drug charges stemming from a traffic stop in August.

Police say they stopped 24-year-old Orlanda Littlelight of Erobi Lane at 4:30 pm August 19th for a simple traffic violation. A K9 conducted an open sniff and indicated the presence of a controlled substance. A probable cause search reportedly turned up a small amount of marijuana, a number of pills in a baggie, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

A warrant was issued August 26th, and she was booked at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday afternoon. She’s been charged with Unlawful Possession of  a  Prescription Drug, Marijuana possession, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Littlelight has a history of arrests, including one from February of this year when she was allegedly found with meth, prescription drugs, marijuana and a pipe after crashing into a snowbank. The month before on the 31st, she was stopped on outstanding warrants and reportedly had meth and marijuana on her person in that incident.

In September 2020 during a stop for driving while revoked, Littlelight refused to give her real name, referring to herself only as “Mystic.” And in October 2019 she got an OWI after she and a companion were reportedly found partially clothed and passed out in a running vehicle.

If convicted on all counts from the August incident, Littlelight faces up to 25 months in jail.
