With temperatures more summer-like than fall-like this week, it’s hard to think about winterizing your home. Nevertheless, the city of Iowa City has opened their window for their Energy Efficiency Program for homeowners.

The program runs from September to March 1st and provides loans of up to $6000 to improve the home’s energy efficiency. Those projects include replacement of heating and furnace systems, replacing windows with energy-star compliant products, insulating and weatherproofing products.

Some income and equity restrictions apply; information can be found at a link under this story on our website and social media platforms.
