Iowa City woman arrested on warrant stemming from speeding incident

An Iowa City woman was arrested on a warrant stemming from a speeding incident that allegedly turned up a number of drugs.

Police stopped 23-year-old Isabel Cody of Meadow Ridge Lane on the 2100 block of Highway 6 Northwest the evening of May 6th for speeding. During the stop, a K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics, and a vehicle search was conducted.

Police say they discovered numerous prescription pills, multiple containers with drug residue, and a container with a crystal-like substance. After testing, a warrant for Cody’s arrest was granted on October 19th.

She was booked at the Johnson County Jail Monday at 12:20am. She faces two counts of  Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, Cody could be sentenced to over two years in jail.
