The Iowa City Police department is welcoming a new officer.
Officer Todd Gusta was sworn in Tuesday at city hall. Gusta, a Cedar Rapids native, attended Kirkwood Community College for two years and is a member of the Iowa Army National Guard. He was previously employed by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and the Coralville Police Department.
According to an ICPD news release, Gusta graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in April 2020 and will immediately enter into the department’s field training program.
