The victim in a weekend shooting in Washington has been identified as a Coralville man.
The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations revealed in a Monday news release that 41-year-old Kenneth James was the man shot outside the Woodridge Apartments on West Adams Street just after 8pm Friday. Washington Police say James was waiting for an acquaintance when a lone male approached the driver’s side of his vehicle and fired one shot at James, striking him in the left torso.
James was able to drive away, but crashed his car at the intersection of South Iowa Avenue and East Monroe Street, where he called 9-1-1. He was later transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Police say they believe James and the shooter knew each other. The investigation is ongoing.
