University of Iowa Dance Marathon has announced they’re shifting back to a virtual format this year.
In a news release, the Dance Marathon 28 Executive Council says the event was initially planned to be an in-person event, but after careful consideration with health care experts, it was determined that they would go to holding the event virtually.
The release said, “While this is a shift from our original plan, we are encouraged by the success of the virtual format of the Big Event 2021 – a year in which we raised over $1.4 million.”
The event will be streamed live as it was last year, with more details forthcoming.
