An Iowa City woman has been arrested for violating her parole after allegedly hiding a wanted suspect.

According to court documents, officers conducted a home visit at the Dakota Trail residence of 38-year-old Stephanie Eakes Wednesday night.  She allegedly lied to officers regarding a wanted subject being present in the residence.

The subject, identified as 36-year-old Randall Grandstaff of North Liberty, was wanted on warrants in Iowa and Johnson County.  On September 27th, he allegedly fled from a North Liberty traffic stop on a stolen motorcycle that had been repainted so that it was unrecognizable. He ditched the cycle in a residential neighborhood and it was recovered along with a firearm.

Grandstaff was later arrested and charged with 2nd degree Theft, Eluding, driving while barred as a habitual offender, and being in control of a firearm as a felon. He failed to show up for his December arraignment, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Eakes was on parole, and hiding a suspect is a violation. The two were taken into custody and remain at the Johnson County Jail as of Thursday morning.
