A high school teacher in Riverside was charged Thursday after reports of possible sexual abuse of a student.

KWWL TV reports that 41-year-old Justin Rapier of Marion was previously employed as a teacher at Highland High School. The Washington County Sheriff’s office received a report of possible sexual abuse involving a child last month. Their investigation determined that it involved a female student.

Court complaints indicate that Rapier engaged in a sexual relationship with the student while she was attending school there.

Rapier faces charges of Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
