Summer school activities in the Cedar Rapids school district have been suspended until next week after a cyber-attack was discovered over the weekend.

The Gazette reports that the district’s announcement did not describe the nature of the attack or say which systems it targeted. High school baseball and softball games will go on as scheduled.

The district consulted with cyber-security experts who suggested that the school suspend summer activities while they review the matter and take steps to make sure such an incident doesn’t happen again.

Programming will start up again Monday July 11th.
