An Iowa City woman has been charged with selling drugs after she was observed selling a large quantity of marijuana.

Police say 21-year-old Nabrinah Sonii of Shire Lane reportedly left her residence the evening of July 13th and met with a subject in the area of Highway 6 East. Sonii allegedly sold marijuana to a subject in exchange for cash. Police say she sold over 42 ½ grams of the substance.

Police obtained a search warrant on Sonii’s residence and served it on July 21st. Officers allegedly turned up approximately 40 pounds of THC edibles, more than two pounds of marijuana, several ounces of THC wax, and dozens of vape cartridges. Multiple scales, packaging materials, cash and a money counter were also located.

A warrant for Sonii’s arrest was issued August 3, and she was booked at the Johnson County Jail Sunday morning. She faces two counts each of a Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to Affix Tax Stamp. If convicted, she faces a prison term of up to 20 years.
