Cedar Rapids Police make arrest in April fatal shooting

Cedar Rapids Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting this April.

The Joint Communications Agency received a Call for Service in the area of 12th Avenue SW and Auburn Drive SW regarding shots fired in the overnight hours of April 25th.

Officers arrived and located 36-year-old Dustin Frondle of Cedar Rapids suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest area.  CPR was initiated, however Frondle was declared deceased on scene.

As a result of the investigation and collaboration with the Linn County Attorney’s Office, 46-year-old Marlon Jackson of Cedar Rapids was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting.

Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the Linn County Jail on charges of Involuntary Manslaughter, Possession of Firearm as a Felon, Giving False Information when Applying for a Permit to Acquire, Giving False Information when Acquiring a Firearm, Reckless Use of a Firearm, and Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.

The release from Cedar Rapids Police indicates that their investigation is ongoing.
