The nation’s largest bank chain is coming to downtown Iowa City.
Officials from JPMorgan Chase say they plan a Chase bank branch for the ground floor of The Edge, a mixed use commercial and condominium building at 300 South Clinton Street. The office will include eight to ten employees.
Chase only has three other Iowa locations…all of which are in the Des Moines area. Bank representatives told The Cedar Rapids Gazette they chose Iowa City for a branch because of the strong small business community, the city’s vibrant economy, and the fact that so many University of Iowa students already use Chase credit cards.
The downtown Iowa City Chase Bank branch is expected to open later this year.
