Coralville man accused of stealing employee items from Coral Ridge Mall restaurant

A Coralville man has been arrested on a warrant stemming from a December theft from a Coral Ridge Mall restaurant.

According to the arrest report, the incident happened on the 29th at around 3:15 pm.  30-year-old Jesse Nicastri was seen on closed-circuit security camera footage concealing employee items on his person. Among the items allegedly taken include cell phones, air pods, car keys, a laptop, an Amazon fire stick, a passport, and a backpack.

Authorities estimate the value of the items reportedly taken at just shy of $3100.

The footage also allegedly shows Nicastri leaving the area with the items. He was positively identified by a witness at a later date in a photo lineup.

The warrant was issued on January 27th, and Nicastri was arrested Tuesday evening. He’s been charged with 2nd degree theft, a Class D felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
