Iowa City will launch a new version of its website, www.ICgov.org, on Thursday.
In a release from the city, the fresh, new look is intended to provide a more user-friendly experience for the Iowa City community. The project began about two years ago with the selection of the website development company Granicus. Last year, the City gathered public input for suggestions on the redesign through a community survey. This feedback was used, along with the website analytics and best practices guidance from Granicus, to build the new site.
Various improvements on the website include:
- A more modern look
- Easier navigation
- Adjustable layout for mobile, tablet, and computer users
- Streamlined content
- Improved search function
- A student resources page
- A service finder tool
- Robust menus dedicated to businesses and residents
During the changeover to the new website which begins midmorning on Thursday, users may experience technical issues while the transition is completed. Please check back into the site at a later time if you experience an issue.
