A Coralville man was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly assaulting another man in a Coral Ridge Mall parking lot.
Police say they were called by the victim, who told them he was attacked just before 1am by a man on a bike. Arriving officers located the alleged assailant, 41-year-old Demetrius Bledsoe, in the area. The victim positively identified Bledsoe as the one who put him in a choke-hold, leaving him with a scratch on his forehead, redness on his neck, and a sore throat.
Bledsoe allegedly gave several false names before providing his real name.
He was charged with Assault causing Bodily Injury and Providing False ID Information. If convicted on both charges, Bledsoe could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail.
