The Johnson County Board of Supervisors has determined the wage increases for elected officials and county employees.

The Gazette reports that all elected officials will get at least a 4 percent raise for fiscal year 2024, which starts July 1. County employees are also expected to get a 4 percent wage increase.

County attorney Rachel Zimmerman will get a 6.4 percent increase; Sheriff Brad Kunkel a 4.8 percent increase, and the auditor, recorder, treasurer and the five supervisors will get a 4% pay bump.

The compensation board in January recommended 10 percent wage increases for county employees: 16 percent for the county attorney, 12 percent increase for the sheriff, and 10 percent for the auditor, recorder, treasurer and five supervisors. Supervisors were required to agree to the recommendations, or reduce them by an equal percentage.

In Linn County, the compensation board recommended 10 to 12 percent raises; the Supervisors approved  4.92 percent increases for County Attorney Nick Maybanks, Sheriff Brian Gardner, and sheriff’s deputies. The other elected officials will get a 4.1 percent pay bump.
