A resident of an Iowa City facility for the chronically homeless faces charges that he defecated in the lobby of the facility.

Iowa City Police were called to Cross Park Place just after 4:30 Wednesday afternoon for an intoxicated subject. Arriving officers learned that 63-year-old Cross Park Place resident Russell Weston had defecated on the floor of the common area. He also reportedly showed signs of intoxication.  His breath alcohol level was measured at .269%.

Weston pleaded guilty to a Public Intoxication charge on Thursday and was given credit for time served after spending one day in jail.

Weston has a lengthy history of intoxication-related convictions.
