A Johnson County Sheriff’s deputy stopping to help a motorcyclist with his disabled vehicle learned the man had four warrants for his arrest.

Arrest records indicate a deputy was on routine patrol on State Street in Oxford just before 5pm Tuesday when he noticed a subject leave an apartment, get on a motorcycle and drive around the block before breaking down. When the deputy went to check on the man…identified as 55-year-old Luis Cautino Rovira of North Liberty…he learned he was barred from driving and had four outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants stem from an April 27th incident where Cautino Rovira parked his car in front of the Sports Column on South Dubuque Street…despite having a barred license…and walked to the Ped Mall with a woman who has a no-contact order against him.

Cautino Rovira faces a Driving While Barred charge, as well as the previous charges of Driving While Barred, Driving While Suspended, Driving While Denied or Revoked and a No-Contact Order Violation. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of four years in jail.
