Iowa City Police say a transient violated a no-contact order by barging into a residence, then threatening to burn it down.

According to arrest records, officers were called to an address on Harlocke Street just after 12:15 Saturday morning after a woman reported 26-year-old Abraham Lemus was there and would not leave. The caller has an order of protection against Lemus, who lists his address as CommUnity Crisis Services on Gilbert Court.

The woman told police Lemus pushed his way into the apartment when she opened the door to tell him to leave. Arriving officers say they found Lemus yelling at the woman and a man he had discovered inside the residence. Lemus was reportedly yelling at the man to leave, despite the fact Lemus was not allowed on the property due to the protective order.

As Lemus was leaving, he allegedly made multiple threatening statements indicating he would burn down the apartment.

Lemus is charged with a no-contact order violation.
