A local transient is accused of calling 9-1-1 multiple times for no apparent reason while intoxicated.
Iowa City Police say 30-year-old Jacob Moore called emergency dispatchers seven times within a three-hour span late on the night of June 17th. Moore reportedly never mentioned an emergency, and only yelled at dispatchers before hanging up. Police say the calls tied up their lines on a busy Friday night.

Moore was located near the corner of Gilbert and Washington Streets just before 1am and arrested for Public Intoxication and Obstruction of Emergency Communications. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 60 days in jail.
