Armed subjects charged after altercation at Louisa County gender reveal party

Two armed Columbus Junction men have been arrested after a reported altercation at a Louisa County gender reveal party.

According to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, just after 9:15 Saturday night deputies were dispatched to the 1100 Block of Cedar Street in Fredonia for a report of a juvenile male subject with a firearm at a gender reveal party.  A physical altercation ensued, followed by three males leaving in a black BMW SUV.

Investigators caught up with the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 92 and County Road G40.  Three adult males and three firearms were located inside the vehicle.  Upon further investigation, it was determined only two of the three male subjects were carrying firearms at the time of the incident.

23-year-old Tijon Malik Harrill of Columbus Junction was taken into custody and charged with prohibited possessor of an offensive weapon, carrying a weapon while intoxicated, public intoxication, and open container of a passenger in a vehicle.  28-year-old Kevante’ Demetreus Andrews of Columbus Junction was taken into custody and charged with carrying a weapon while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.

Harrill is ineligible to carry firearms due to a previous domestic abuse conviction.
