Iowa City Police say a University of Iowa student may have been too intoxicated to realize he was urinating BEHIND a port-a-pottie on the Ped Mall early Saturday morning.

According to arrest records, the suspect was seen urinating behind the port-a-pottie near The Fieldhouse bar on the Ped Mall just after 12:30 a.m. The 19-year-old was reportedly zipping up his jeans when officers confronted him. He allegedly showed signs of intoxication.

When asked if he had been urinating, the man reportedly said, “Sorry” and claimed he had actually been vomiting behind the port-a-pottie. He also failed to answer when asked how much he’d had to drink.

Police say the man was reluctant to show them his ID when asked, at one point skimming past two different state ID’s and a military ID in his wallet. He reportedly eventually produced two fake ID’s showing him to be of legal drinking age and claimed he didn’t have his real ID with him.

The student is charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of a Fake ID
