Multiple agencies responded to a large vegetation fire Tuesday in southwest Johnson County prompting a warning about open burning.
Dispatch records show firefighters from Hills, Lone Tree, Kalona and Riverside were all dispatched to the 2800 block of 500th Street…between Frytown and Hills…just before 12:45 p.m.
The Hills Fire Department posted on its Facebook page that while temperatures have been unseasonably warm lately, conditions are still too dry to burn safely. Residents who still decide to burn are asked to notify the Joint Emergency Communications Center in advance at (319)356-6800.
