An arraignment date has been set for a Cedar Rapids man accused of trying to arrange a sexual encounter with an underage person in Iowa City.

Iowa City Police say 36-year-old Collin White of 1st Avenue SE communicated with a person he believed to be under the age of 16, telling them in great detail how he wanted to have sexual relations with them. White allegedly sent the person several photos of his penis. He also reportedly asked the other person for photos and videos of their genitalia.

Police say White eventually arranged to pick the person up and transport them to his hotel room, where they would engage in sexual activities. White arrived at a pre-determined location on 1st Avenue while allegedly armed with a knife just after 8:15 on the night of February 16th. The knife had a blade over 5 ½ inches long.

White was arrested and charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Enticing a Minor for Sexual Purposes, Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor, and Carrying Weapons.

On Friday, Judge Chad Kepros set an arraignment date of March 8th. If convicted on all charges, White faces a maximum of 33 years in prison.
