Reports of several Molotov cocktails being thrown into a ds barber shop remains under investigation by Cedar Rapids Police and Fire departments.
The Gazette reports firefighters were called to The Men’s Room Hair and Beard Parlor on First Avenue SE at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. No one was in the building at the time of the fire, and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
Fire investigators have since determined that the fire was arson, and that incendiary devices were used. A post on the business’ Facebook page states that Molotov cocktails were thrown into the building.
The owners were hoping to be open again by this morning.
No arrests have been made; the incident remains under investigation.
