A Cedar Rapids man was arrested on a warrant regarding a two-month old harassment incident.

Police say 34-year-old Shango Johnson of 36th Street Southeast was at the woman’s Iowa City residence on April 6th at 8:40am, attempting to kick in the front door. He allegedly kicked the door several times and told her that he was going to kill her and shoot anyone else in the residence.

Johnson fled when the victim called 911.

Johnson’s actions allegedly caused $500 damage to the door casing.

A warrant for Johnson’s arrest was issued on April 9th; he was located and taken into custody Sunday. He faces one count each of 2nd degree Attempted Burglary, 1st degree Harassment, and 4th degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on all charges, Johnson could be sentenced to a maximum 8 years in prison.

A no-contact order was issued by a Johnson County Judge on Monday.
