A suspect has been arrested in an Iowa City burglary case.
40-year-old Sean Dewalt of Ottumwa was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 2:00 Saturday afternoon. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says Dewalt stole an eBike valued at $480 from a garage on Anderson Avenue at about 7:30 Tuesday night. Security video reportedly shows Dewalt originally taking a backpack. But when he came across the eBike, he left the backpack and stole the bicycle.
Dewalt is now charged with 3rd Degree Burglary and 4th Degree Theft. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of six years in prison.
