An Ottumwa woman was taken into custody early Wednesday after she was allegedly found with meth during a traffic stop in Lone Tree.
A deputy stopped a 2012 Ford Fusion for an unspecified equipment violation just after 12:30am on Devoe Street. 42-year-old Jennifer Wilcox was a passenger in the vehicle, and a Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department K9 sniffed positive on the car. Wilcox was removed from the vehicle and reportedly provided a false name and date of birth.
During a search of the vehicle, a loaded syringe with methamphetamine was allegedly located in a backpack belonging to Wilcox. She then reportedly confessed to providing false ID information to law enforcement because she thought she had an outstanding warrant.
Wilcox then told officers that she had a meth pipe in her pants pocket.
A criminal check found that Wilcox was convicted of meth possession in June 2025. She was charged with a second offense, as well as providing false ID information and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, Wilcox could be sentenced to up to over two years in prison.
