North Liberty Police have arrested a Cedar Rapids man they say was driving drunk with children in his car.
Officers pulled over a 2018 Dodge Caravan near Kansas Avenue and St. Andrew’s Drive just before 11:45 Tuesday night after being alerted about a potential intoxicated driver. The driver, 41-year-old Joseph Parrott of Chandler Street SW, reportedly showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking at the Cedar Rapids Kernels game at about 5:00. A Datamaster measured his breath alcohol level at .113%.
There were two children in the car at the time of the traffic stop. Parrott was arrested for one count of Operating While Intoxicated and two of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of five years in jail.
