A pair of University of Iowa students is accused of creating fake access cards that allowed them entry into a UI dormitory.

UI Police say 19-year-old Scot Hampel of Kirkwood Avenue and 19-year-old Jacob Vondrak of Stanley Hall used the cards to gain access through a locked door at Currier Hall. Investigators say using the cards created a fraudulent record of access so the two could enter without detection. The two can be seen on video using the fraudulent cards.

Hampel, an engineering student, and Vondrak, a business student, are each charged with Tampering with Records. If convicted, they each face a maximum of two years in prison.
