Grants available for Iowa farmers hit by floods

Every little bit helps when you’re in need, and Iowa farmers have the chance to get a bit of a helping hand if their fields have been flooded.
The Center For Rural Affairs has announced a partnership with Farm Aid and Iowa Farmers Union to provide grants of up to $500 for household expenses.
To qualify, you must be a farmer in an area damaged by recent flooding, and the money cannot be used for professional expenses related to farming operations.
The deadline to apply for the grants is July 15th and an application is available online at www.cfra.org/2019FloodGrant . The site also has a place for you to donate to the Farm Aid Family Farm Disaster Fund.
