No charges are expected to be filed in the case of a man who witnesses said offered money to children at an Iowa City convenience store.

That’s according to a statement released by Iowa City Police Friday morning.

According to an ICPD news release sent Thursday evening, officers received a report of suspicious behavior by a male offering money to children outside the Kum & Go on Muscatine Avenue Wednesday at approximately 3:15 p.m.
The male was described as a 35-year-old black male with brown eyes and black hair. He was associated with a blue sedan.
A second release sent by the ICPD late Thursday night indicated the male had been identified and was being questioned by police. Police now say the man will likely not be charged.
