An early Sunday evening shots-fired incident in Cedar Rapids left two men with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they received the call of shots fired in the 200 block of Jacolyn Drive at 6:22pm. Upon arrival, officers found two men who were injured in the “lower extremities.”  Police, firefighters and ambulance personnel administered medical assistance before they were transported to a hospital.

A house and a vehicle also sustained damage in the incident; no arrests have been made.

On Saturday night, a shots-fired incident at around 11:15 was reported in the area of Third Avenue and 11th Street Southwest. Arriving officers detected the smell of gas and discovered that a gas meter was struck by gunfire. The area was evacuated while MidAmerican Energy repaired the leak.

No one was injured in that incident and although witnesses were interviewed, no arrests were made.
