Johnson County has seen its first patient to have COVID-19 from community-acquired transmission.
Governor Kim Reynolds made the announcement Sunday night and is expected to speak at a news conference later today.
An e-mail from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics states that the patient presented for emergency care with COVID-19 symptoms and was admitted to the hospital. The patient was masked and staff members took appropriate caution.
This is the second case of COVID-19 being treated at the UIHC.
