Ten more positive cases of COVID-19 are being reported at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center.

AFSCME Council 61 president Danny Homan took to Facebook Wednesday to say he had been informed of ten more COVID-19 cases among inmates at the Coralville facility. The message, made under the official AFSCME Council 61 Facebook page, encourages readers to share the post in hopes to get the word out. Homan says governor Kim Reynolds refuses to discuss the issue with him, and he hopes by spreading the information the media will begin asking what he calls “the tough questions”.

Homan goes on to say he is “concerned and scared” for corrections staff across the state.

Last weekend state officials confirmed one prisoner at the IMCC had contracted COVID-19…the first case of a prisoner in the state testing positive . The inmate had been transferred April 16th from Henry County.
