A Coralville man faces drug charges after being charged with his second OWI.

Police stopped 22-year-old Jeremiah Seals of Coral Court on the 2200 block of the Coralville Strip just after 10:45pm Thursday because his Toyota Camry had no plates. While approaching the passenger door, the officer states he could smell the odor of marijuana.

Seals reportedly exhibited impaired balance, smelled of marijuana, and admitted to having smoked marijuana. He showed measurable impairment on field testing, but refused all other testing.

A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly turned up two bags containing a green leafy substance, a small glass pipe with burnt residue, and a small scale.

Seals had been charged with possession of a controlled substance in August of this year, and an OWI in March of 2019.

Seals has been charged with OWI second offense, second offense marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to over three years in prison.
