Cedar Rapids police are investigating a late night shooting Tuesday that sent a woman to the hospital.
According to a release from the city, the incident occurred in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue Northwest at around 11:45pm. Officers responded to reports of a female being shot, and arrived to render aid to the victim until medical personnel took over. The woman was transported to a local hospital for what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Police gathered evidence at the scene and interviewed witnesses. No arrests have been made.
