Three Iowa City men were arrested Tuesday night after allegedly breaking into an apartment.

The alleged incident occurred a little after 10:15 on the 2400 block of Muscatine Avenue. According to police, 47-year-old Mitchell Kent and 63-year-old Willie Carroll, who also live in the apartment building, were joined by 45-year-old Peter Mendoza of Metric Road. The three are accused of smashing in the door of another apartment while the sole occupant of that apartment was inside.

Kent, Carroll and Mendoza also allegedly yelled physical threats to the occupant.

The men were arrested and each charged with 3rd degree Burglary, which is a Class C Felony. If convicted, the three could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison each.
